Have you heard about our Keynote speaker yet?
Gregg Levoy is the author of Callings: Finding and Following An Authentic Life (Random House). As you may have guessed, our Spring Conference theme borrows heavily from the subject matter of Gregg's book: how to hear and respond to a calling, and how to live a life of authenticity.
We are excited about exploring this topic further with our colleagues since it is applicable for both our professional lives and the lives of our students. It also seems timely because of the current economic downturn and scarcity of historically higher-paying entry-level jobs, and the fact that research has shown that "meaningful work" is a priority for the Millennial generation.
Gregg is also a full-time lecturer and seminar leader, Keynoting conferences for the National Career Development Association (NCDA), the American Counseling Association (ACA), and the International Association of Career Management Professionals (IACMP). He has also presented at workshops for countless universities and corporations.
Callings has been utilized as a text in various graduate programs in Management and Organizational Leadership. Gregg has also written about this subject for the New York Times Magazine, Washington Post, Omni, Psychology Today, Reader's Digest, and many others. He is a former adjunct professor of journalism at the University of New Mexico, and former columnist and reporter for the Cincinnati Enquirer and USA Today.
