After the Conference




Parking at the Conference

The conference takes place in Andorfer Commons at Indiana Tech. Parking is available in the lots in front of and adjacent to Andorfer Commons – no parking passes are required.

It's this Friday!

It's hard to believe our conference is this week! We are excited that you will be joining us for this fun and engaging conference with a wonderful line up of speakers and workshops. Our goal is that you walk away from this conference with new and exciting information that you can take back and use.

Registration will begin at 8:30 with the Welcome Session starting at 9:15. If you are coming into town Thursday evening, be sure to join us at J.K. O'Donnells in downtown Fort Wayne. It's only a few blocks from the Hilton and will be a great opportunity to network in an informal and fun setting.

Directions to the Conference

On the right of this blog, you can enter your starting address to get directions to Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne from your location.

From E. Washington Blvd. - turn left onto the Indiana Tech Campus. Turn left into the parking lot for Andorfer Commons (it will be the first building you see). You may park in front of the building and go in the front doors.

If you are coming from E. Jefferson Blvd (turns into Maumee Ave.) - turn left onto the Indiana Tech campus just past the soccer fields. Continue straight until you come to the last parking lot on the right (you won't go far to get to it). Turn right into the parking lot for Andorfer Commons and come in the front doors.

The fun begins....

Planning to spend the night in Fort Wayne on October 16th before the conference? We'll have a fun get together for those who are arriving a day early for the conference.

We will meet at JK O'Donnell's at 7pm. They have great food and drinks and it will be a wonderful time to relax and start networking with other professionals attending the conference. JK's is within walking distance to the hotel and is located in the heart of downtown Fort Wayne.

Keynote Speaker Announced




Keynote Address: Dr. Phil Gardner “Changing Labor Markets”
Dr. Philip Gardner, Director of the Collegiate Employment Institute at Michigan State University, will discuss emerging career fields, industries and other trends which will affect job opportunities for college graduates. A regular presenter at the annual Midwest ACE Trends Conference, Dr. Gardner will incorporate information from his extensive research in topics including: transition from college to work and early workplace socialization; student engagement, learning and competency development; and labor market dynamics for college educated employees, especially early career development.

Any of the above topics and related topics proposals are welcomed and encouraged. If you or someone you know would like to present at the Fall CDPI Conference, please send all proposals to Karen Obringer at obringek@ipfw.edu.
Please feel free to forward this onto others (employers, counselors, grad students) that you believe could present on any of the above and related topics. Once proposals are received, they will be reviewed by the committee and presenters notified.
