The committee currently seeks proposals for a wide variety of topics for the Spring 2009 conference to be held on Friday, March 13th, 2009 at Indiana Farm Bureau in Indianapolis, IN.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT MODELS
Do you use a career counseling model? Do you utilize a holistic approach that considers a career as just one part of the bigger picture? What career assessment tools do you find useful in assisting students with their career exploration and development?
SOCIAL NETWORKING
Have you been successful at using facebook or other social networking to connect with students or employers? Do you believe in the power of personal branding? How have you made web 2.0 work for you?
RECRUITMENT STRATEGIES
Employers, career service professionals want to hear from you! What insight can you share with us? How can we prepare students better for internships and the real world? What methods have you found to be successful for communicating with our offices? How can we make your job easier?
GOING GREEN
Are you committed to going green? Do you know of employers in the green industry? What advice do you give students interested in green careers? Has your office gone green? Share your knowledge of the movement to go green with your colleagues. We all want to know!
BEST PRACTICES
Don’t think you have enough information for an entire hour-long session but still have information you would like to share? Share your best practices on ANY TOPIC from employing and training student workers in your office to keys for a model internship programs to working with alumni in a weak economy. Submit your best practice for a short session (10-15 minutes) and the committee will match you with similar proposals.
One more thing! We’re going green in an effort to cut costs and save a tree! All proposals must be submitted via email.
